New Shoes!

Uncategorized No Comments »

My old DVS’s were trashed so I ran by Ambush to get some new kicks. I picked up the Fallen Patriot’s because I loved the black and white mix.

Also, Mikey Taylor dropped some shoes with DVS that I had to pick up. It’s cool because Mikey is actually a Honda head on top of being a professional skater. Here is actually an old interview with him, Transworld Interview. I am glad that Mikey is now with DVS shoes and hope he makes some more sick shoes in the future.

Myspace.com Office, Formula D Office, Belle 1 and a flight home.

So Tuesday night I hung out at Myspace for a couple hours on a work station because my laptop was broke, ugh. We snuck out around 2am and went to bed for an early day. We woke up and returned my rental car and headed to Long Beach.

We ended up meeting with Ryan Sage from Formula D to talk about the new season and how Slide America will be a part of it. Then we walked across the hall (literally) to Belle 1 Communications and hung out with Darryl and Fred. Fred actually runs a record label as well and we met on trying to get some nice tunes into Slide America which hopefully works out. Then I took the hike back to LAX and wound up landing home on Thursday at about 4:45am. I have to be up for a meeting at 1pm, oh joy. Sleep time.

Warner Brothers!!!

So once again I was the victim of that horrible 8am parking so I started my day bored in my new rental car. I called Kate, better know by another name that cannot be used for my safety, and I picked her up and she dragged me to Old Pasedena. We ended up eating at an awesome Italian place right off Fair Oaks.

Then Kate took me to the Warner Brothers studio in Burbank and I got to walk around the Gilmore Girls set and the ER set. She also showed me where Growing Pains was filmed which was sweet! Then she took me into the WB Store where I picked up a ton of DVD’s for cheap. It was a fun time! That night I ended up going to City Walk and watching Smoking Ace’s with Thao. I don’t think she quite liked it as much as me.

The old Growing Pains house.

The ER set.

People on Fair Oaks cannot drive!

Redline Time Attack.

Finally we get to the big show! Redline was nuts and a great event. Sadly the morning was plagued with some rain but it ended clearing up. However, not before taking a few casualties of war and piloting 2 cars from the street classes straight into the wall. I got awesome interviews with Chris Rado and a bunch of other race car drivers that showed up for the weekend. Tyler McQuarrie posted one of the best times of the weekend in the JIC 240sx. Tanner Foust and Yukio leaked some plans to me about a new Mazda and Nissan coming out of the camp for the rest of the Redline Time Attack so that is something to look very forward to. Paul who drives the AMS car also told me that something else is in the works which seems like will really make AMS a force to be dealt with, also, will this be the year they can take home the One Lap of America title? I guess only time shall tell.

Big thanks to the Redline Staff for having me over the weekend! Thanks guys.

Modified Tuner Shootout/ Redline Time Attack Day 2

PM Lifestyle No Comments »

Redline was techincally Sunday but the guys were out helping the Modified Magazine staff at California Speedway for the track event. The weather held up to be pretty nice for the day and after we finally left the track event, Skunk2 had a BBQ. Jacob and I headed out to Skunk 2 located in Norco and enjoyed a meal. I ended up sitting at a table with Tony Shagday, who is one of my favorite drag racers from when I use to follow the drag racing series and started talking to him without even knowing it. Jason Siu won a free Skunk2 hoodie in the raffle and I got shafted :(. 0060 got called and no one claimed the prize and I was 0061. Dave Pratt, writer at Modified, won a prize and tried to unload his winning case of NOS Energy Drink’s on me! No thanks buddy, cannot bring liquids on the plane anyway. After that we finally found our way to a hotel room and went to sleep for Day 3.

Back in Socal: Fontana Style, Redline Time Attack

Well after 48 hours back in Atlanta I just couldn’t handle being gone from Socal any longer. With all the Industry Drama on Thursday I was kinda nervous about heading out but I knew it would be a blast. Dan the Man from Redline Time Attack sent me out to help out with the guys in the media department. Friday which was part of the Modified Shootout, we enjoyed some drag racing, 0 to 80 to 0 testing and a skidpad test.

They did well in bringing out some of the big names in the Industry including Scion, Axis Wheels, AMS, and M-workz. It was an exciting event and I hope the guys are able to put it together for the upcoming years. It was an exciting event that ended up as a 2 day event with Saturday hosting a Time Attack. Keep tuned into the magazine for more details soon!

Hollywood: Day V

Well I HAD to wake up at 7:55am, this is why.

I didn’t do much on this day, kinda of like relaxing and getting ready to head home. I wound up driving like all the way down Sunset and then heading back to Hollywood around lunch. Went to old Pasedena and had some good Italian food. Wound up in Beverly Hills next at The Coffee House I think. Ended up returning my rental car and heading to Swingers for dinner. After that I went to LAX and took the redeye back to Atlanta.

Hollywood: Day IV

Well today started out kinda early with me going to Cafe 101 (the former Hollywood Hills coffee shop) which fame was from the filming of the movie Swingers. This place was hella good, loved everything about it. Mad props to K from myspace.com for taking me to it while Jacob’s ass was still sleeping. Well we rolled back to the house to watch the Super Bowl and wow did that game suck. I really had the Bears winning within the spread but they just fell to one mistake to many. Later after Jacob went to work K took me to downtown LA to eat at the Pantry. It has also been in various movies/shows and was opened in 1924 while never closing, it even survived the depression, which is pretty wild. The food was awesome fantasic. Then we ran back into Hollywood and hit up the Jumbo Clown Room. It was like a suicide girl strip club but they kept their clothes on. It was pretty interesting place. Well that was my day and Thao brought me Starbucks *applause* to close out my evening.

It’s about 24 degree’s at home in Atlanta so here is a picture for all my friends stuck at home.

Hollywood: Day III

Well today I did some filming which was booked as a 2pm shoot but the LATE people rolled in around 3:45.
We ran out to a canyon road and pulled off on one of the “scenic view” sides and got a nice crew together to put on an opening to Slide America. I don’t wanna give anything away but Lance F. couldn’t bring his Formula D car so he brought his sponsors car, the dailydriven.com 240sx. Jenny Chu and Lisa Fleming (Miss Lisa Kim) came out for the shoot as well. It went very well. Here is a picture from Good Times Media of us after the shoot and before Korean BBQ!

Hollywood: Day II

Yea so I rolled out of bed with about 2 hours of sleep and got on with the day. Headed to Enterprise off Beverly and got a Chevy Malibu. Then we headed to Pasedena for a meeting with a software company about a project I put together in the fall/winter that I am so stoked about and cannot wait to spill the beans about it but time will come soon! After the meeting we went out with the guys from the place to Japanese BBQ (Gyu Kaku) which was alright, no where near as good as Korean BBQ and Kimchi pankcake! Well we closed some ends and I am crashing a little early tonight.
