Preparing for Performance Racing Industry and Miami!

Personal No Comments »

Well I am leaving mid next week for Performance Racing Industry and hopefully swinging down to Miami on Saturday to herass Warren “Fortune” Shim-quee and hit up Hot Import Nights Miami. The Performance Racing Industry trade show is geared towards the circle track guys but has been invaded by a lot of the racing heads.

I will be gearing up with Matt Ball and company to head down to the show and find out what is going on at the Orange County Convention Center. I also cannot wait to hang out with Donny Mak from tunerzine for a while AND party it up with the guys from Enjuku Racing. It should be a ball!

My favorite tC ever!

Neil Tjin did it again building the ultimate “smurf killer” tC. I just love this car and I was finally able to hunt it down for S3 Magazine. Neil had the car up in Pennsylvania. So I had one of my favorite photog’s from tunerzine.com shoot the car up, Luke Munnell. He is the man and lives in Pittsburgh. Here is a sneak peak of the hopeful cover for the magazine next month. You saw it here first!

Nintendo Wii: Review

Random No Comments »

Ahh yes, the Nintendo Wii caused me to spend wastless hours playing tennis already. Wii Tennis is by far the most addicting basic game I have played in years. The Wii remote is basically a little handheld rectangle that responds to motion movements.

Jason, Eric, and I battled in tennis for about 3 hours one night. I of course was the reigning Wii champion lasting about 9 rounds in a row at one point. The system is pretty small in size and the RF reader for the motion sensor sits nicely on the top of your TV.

The Wii is also backwards comptable to the Gamecube. Now all we need is someone to remake N64’s two best games ever, 007: James Bond and WCW Vs. NWO and I will be set.

Drifting in the 2007?

Formula D No Comments »

Who knows where the sport is going to wind up next year. A ton of competition is reigning down from everywhere but I think Formula D will be able to hold it’s market share. Some drivers might be getting mixed up with new sponsors, new drivers and most importantly news cars.

It should make the season all the more exciting. I cannot wait till May and they run into Road Atlanta again.

Here is the 2007 Formula D Schedule:

April 8th- Long Beach, CA

May 18th- Atlanta, GA

June - TBA

July 14th- Sonoma, CA

August 11th- Seattle, WA

September 8th- Wall, NJ

October 13th- Irwindale, CA

New Movie Project

PM Lifestyle No Comments »

Well I got some more information on this new movie project that Jason and I are trying to get together for spring 2007. It looks like we are going to follow and document the trip and struggles of a new One Lap of America team. New teams are referred to as lap dogs during the race.

The movie will follow the struggle of a privateer team trying to do combat with the experienced and sponsored teams hoping to place in the top 10 for the event. One Lap of America consists of 7 tracks in 7 different states and driving of about 3,900+ miles. It should be a fun one.

KSU Vs. UTK (Hockey at Phillip’s Arena)

Well last time these two met KSU fell just short playing the game up at UTK. So it was proving to be an interesting game with KSU doing so well this season.

At one point the game was not looking very promising. Tennessee had scored two goals and we answered with one. Then Tennessee put three more on the board in a row. It was looking pretty grim with the score 5-1. KSU ended up answering with 6 unanswered goals and winning with a final score of 7-5.

Slide America December Giveaway

I mentioned this earlier but I wanted to wait till it was out on the site. We are offering autographed Sam Hubinette poster’s from Road Atlanta. Sam succesfully won the Formula D 2006 championship but it was a long fought battle for him. Luckily for Sam, Rhys Millen suffered car trouble at Wall, New Jersey putting him out in the first round during top 16. Sam was able to win and push way ahead in the points rankings.

This book is a must buy for all Drifting fans! Antonio is a great guy who we actually interviewed for Slide America when we were in Los Angeles. The book is a solid 127 pages with a hard cover filled with Antonio’s star Drifting photographry. It covers 2004 and 2005 Formula D along with many other Dday events and the first time D1 every came to America. It’s a great reflection of the early days in Drifting.

Struggling in the Fantasy Game

Personal No Comments »

So after an uplifting blog a few days ago about being back in 3rd place I have faltered down to 4th place again. My team is built so solid I am not sure how I am getting beat up. A person keeps getting on streaks getting 9 goals and 15 assits a night while my team is consistant.

Semin for Washington has been kind of disappointing but he is still at 10 goials/11 assists and the key with him is 24 penalty minutes. Some of the new defenseman I picked up have been killing my +/- but I am still sitting pretty at +41 but Teena somehow has racked up like 60 in the last 2 weeks and past me. My goalies are still really killing me, I am like -9 on games played with them. I picked up Emery now from Ottawa who is a solid party time goalie, he swaps time their other goalie.

Finally back in 3rd

Fantasy hockey has been one hell of a streesful battle this year. I am determined to beat Teena (no way I am bowing out to a girl in fantasy sports) but she just keeps dominating sitting in 1st place. Well, I had dropped way down in the ranks for a few days and I finally built my way back up to 3rd place. I am only about 12 points out of 1st and at this point of the season it is anyone’s game.

I pretty much have faceoffs in a lock for 1st place with Mats Sundin and Rob Brind’Amour. Pronger has been gold for a pickup sitting as the number one guy in the NHL for assits right now with 26. My only worry with goalies is that Keri Lehtonen holds it together and is a perfect partner to Giguere at Anahiem. I will give some more updates later once we get closer to April.
