I had a meeting with a race car driver about a new movie concept. Hopefully something we can film in the springtime. It seems pretty exciting. More details to come soon I hope!
Monday was not the best or the most exciting day ever till late in the day. I spent most of the day recovering from the road trip and working on this proposal.
Later in the day I took a shot at playing a Poker Stars tournament. It had 29 entrants and a prize pool for 1st place at around $3,000. I ended up getting into the event and took a victory! It was awesome. I then watched some TV and went to bed.
Well I woke up first on Sunday (except Susan) and went straight to the Xbox 360. I got my first taste of playing Gear of War which I really enjoyed. Finally around 2pm we took that long road home.
We grabbed some Steak/Shake for dinner and made it in awesome time back. I was either driving or working on my new project’s proposal. I was so glad to be almost done with it, I really only have the financials left.
*sorry these are a tad late. I have lacked Internet access.*
We somehow survived sleeping in the middle of no where thank goodness and headed to the airport. Sadly my phone died early in the morning so I have to steal some pictures to document the day. The first person I ran into was Forest who I finally met while filming the movie in Memphis. About 6 months earlier I poured a huge ice cooler completly full all over his bed because someone else was on it that was starting stuff with me.
I had a blast getting into some Drifting (some vacation) and thankfully Scott was awesome enough to take me out for a few spins in the AE86. It was awesome, Ranzo has a gold mine of a spot to throw some events. The surface kind of tears up tires quickly but it seems well worth the ability to do huge high speed tracks.
Big ups to the guys at Traction Optional.

Somehow later in the day I hopped in with Ranzo who was driving a freinds S14 with a KA. We ended up doing some 3 car tandem (with us behind) with Darren in the Supra and Chuck in his 240sx. Later we had Scott tangling with those two as well holding his own in his powerless 86 (mad props sir).
Finally we headed back to St. Louis around dinner time and headed to Harrah’s. I sat down at the most comical $1/2 no limit table I could of ever imagined. These two guys were border line fighting with one dude crying about not knowing how to play poker. Oh man, I finally had to get up and leave the table. All the stupid fighting practically had me on tilt. If these two guys went into a pot you were looking at a 15-30 minutes hand it seemed. I wound up at Chuck’s table who is the best man I have ever sat at a table with. We wound up having a good time and leaving around 2am or so.
Soo Fiodor and I woke up hella early (7:30am) to go grab a rental car from Enterprise. We wound up with a white Ford Fusion. This is the same car we took to Miami a few weeks ago to do some filming, the car isn’t the best thing ever, but for a rental it has some kick.
We stopped at a Love’s somewhere in Tennessee and found some very awesome stickers for our rental. Then I went to toss something in the trunk and we discovered someone didn’t exactly clean our rental whip. We found about 5 boxes of skin care and acme cream. Can you say ebay?

Well the Valentine 1 ended up being a life saver for Fidor. He was doing some driving after we left Nashville and we bumped into about 3 huge speed traps in Kentucky. Luckily we evaded them and drove on to Ina, Illinois. Finally after a couple rivers and farms later we could see the arch to the west. We were finally getting somewhere.

Here is where the St. Louis Cardinals play in downtown.

We pulled up to Adrenaline Motorsports (Chuck and Susan’s shop) where Chuck and Darren were hanging around waiting for us. I had a blast filming with these guys over the summer so I had to come back and visit. Susan is actually pregnant so she was kind of out of action for the weekend and hiding around at home! Congrats are in order to both of them. Chuck somehow talked us into going to Arkansas to check out Ranzo’s Drift event. So much for a gambling filled weekend!

We got on the road and somehow we let Darren provide us mapquest directions and wound up driving through the back woods of Missouri. It was hella scary. We arrived at some Scottish Inn located in Pocahontas, Arkanasas. This place was a stretch of even being a motel.
Chucky’s whip!

Thanksgiving is always a fun time (assuming your not a native american like Stephanie) where people get together and eat. I woke up rather early and thankfully USA had some awesome movies on for the day.
Around 2pm I went to my “other” family’s house and the Clay family treated me to a delightful meal. I got to see my “sister” Sarah once more before she returned to school and it was a good time. The food was great. Here is a picture of us (actually at IHOP) but whatever, my Sidekick wasn’t around for Thanksgiving day.
Then around 6pm I went to visit my mom’s boss Eric (owner of Ace Roofing) and we had dinner with them. He has an awesome little boy named Austin. We chatted mostly about poker which was cool. I went home and got packed for my vacation to St. Louis. Woooo!

Well Sarah Clay finally is returning from Georgia Southern which is great news. We deceided to attend IHOP later in the evening. My brother dragged me away from Internet poker and I took him to Ambush.
Here are 2 boards I ended up liking as we looked around.

Here is the board he ended up buying.

Later that night Sarah returned and we had a party!!!!!! She even took our her awesome parents van for the special occasion.
Here is Sarah being Sarah.

Thankfully Alabama isn’t home from me but Monday sent me to Birmingham. Right before I got on the road I stopped by a Shell station and thought this was rather hilarious. This is for you Tony A.

Don’t forget to party like a Rockstar kids. Here is this awesome sign at the state Alabama Vistor’s Center which I just found way to awesome to pass up a photo.

I headed down to Rev Limit Bessemer with Laura. We bumped into Mikey who was washing Austin’s STI in like 35 degree weather. We rolled the blue STI inside the shop and got to work. Laura was our model for the S3 Magazine shoot this month. The model shoot was hilarious this month and the theme was even more genious. After the shoot Lawnmower (who now has Austin’s old EK) and Yvonne came to the shop. I’m mad they didn’t bring my favorite person Lexi though.

After the shop we went back to Taylor’s apartment. We grabbed him and Brewerhatch and went to Buffalo Wild Wings. It was a good time catching up with some more honda-tech buddies. Here is Laura back at the shop.

Well Jason and I are still trying to wrap up this business proposal that needs to be done yesterday. I met up with Gabbi and she dragged me to Hooter’s for lunch. I found this odd being that Gabbi works at Hooter’s but she wanted to go for the “really good food.”

This is my favorite part of the Hooter’s menu. This girl is holding a big stick.

Stupidity continued into the evening. Gabbi modeled some Slide America t-shirts for us. Thank you again Gabbi. I ended up going to bed around 8pm or so. I woke up at 2am and traveled down to a secert undisclosed location.
We took the car trailors downtown and unloaded them in a super secert spot. Then we wandered around to the 17th street bridge. Here was the view from the drift spot.

We snuck off afterwards to a local parking deck. Filming for Slide America was fun again but wow, it was 40 degree’s outside or something. I am very glad we did the movie over the summertime.

Here are the Drifters having a meeting on how to get the stupid broken LS13 back to the trailor. Way to go Mike! He can manage to destroy a car about anywhere.

Save me! Basically Saturday I spent a ton of time sitting in traffic. Jason and I went out with Yoni again from Exedy, went to Don Pablo’s and watched Ohio State beat Michigan.
